ZERONA patients are treated a minimum of 6 times over a 2 to 3 week period. Each of these sessions takes 40 minutes. Treatment is delivered 20 minutes to the front of the body and 20 minutes to the back of the body. During this time the patient relaxes comfortably in a prone position. The laser emits a red light that does not feel either cold or hot; in fact, the patient feels nothing during the treatment. No downtime or recovery period is needed after treatment. Instead, patients can resume normal activities immediately.
How Does it Work?
Through clinical studies it has been demonstrated the Zerona low level cold laser stimulates the fat cell to emulsify (liquefy) the fat within the fat cell. Then the liquefied fat moves from inside the cell through a temporary pore formed in the cell membrane to outside the cell where it is in the interstitial space until absorbed by the Lymphatic system. This results in millions of fat cells becoming smaller so inches are reduced off the waist, hips, and thighs as well as other areas in the body that are measured as part of the protocol.
What Areas of the Body Can I Use Zerona on?
The Zerona treatment can be used effectively on essentially every part of the body where localized fat deposits exist that are resistant to diet and exercise. Most patients start with treating the waist, hips, and thighs which can all be targeted in 1 treatment. Other areas include upper arms, bra-line fat, inner knees, back fat, and buttocks.
Is It Safe?
YES, there is NO risk in using the Zerona low-level laser therapy and it is considered a safe alternative to invasive procedures such as tumescent liposuction and lipodissolve and other non-invasive devices like the Accent, Veleshape, and Thermage which rely on heating the tissue and can cause discomfort. None of these have proven data showing how fat cell size is reduced like the Zerona. The Zerona treatment is 100% non-invasive and causes NO bruising, scarring, and ZERO downtime. During the treatment you will feel NO discomfort, NO anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment.
Are There Any Side-Effects?
NO. The treatment process is completely non-invasive and there are absolutely NO effects beyond loss of inches and body fat.
Does It Really Work?
YES, by following the recommended guidelines for success, you can expect to experience a loss of 3 to 9 inches from your waist, hips, thighs, back, and arms and a reduction in clothes size.
Does It Have FDA Approval?
YES, see the following information:
FDA Grants Market Clearance for Zerona Laser
Proven safe and effective for circumference reduction of the waist, hips and thighs
McKinney, TX August 30, 2010 – Erchonia Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer in low-level laser technology, has been granted market clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the non-invasive body contouring device, the Zerona. The Zerona is the first non-invasive aesthetic device to receive FDA market clearance in the U.S. for circumferential reduction of the waist, hips, and thighs.
The FDA granted market clearance following the completion of a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind, multi-site clinical investigation evaluating sixty-seven study participants. The results obtained from that study demonstrated an average inch loss reduction of 3.65 inches across patient’s waist, hips, and thighs in as little as two weeks. The clinical trial, absent of diet restrictions, exercise requirements, or any other adjunctive components properly illustrated the clinical utility of the Zerona and set the precedent on how aesthetic devices should be evaluated. ZERONA treatments can be done effectively on essentially any part of the body where deposits of subcutaneous fat exist, especially those that are resistant to diet and exercise. Most patients start with treating the waist, hips and tops of thighs which can all be targeted in one treatment session as they are within the target areas of the 5 laser lights.
Disclaimer: Even though the Zerona and Lapex have been proven effective in independent studies, as it is with any medical procedure, results vary and are not guaranteed. A healthy lifestyle is important.
